About Us

Jennifer Damon and Aaron Friscia work together to help clients overcome problem behaviors in their pet dogs. It's a family business that they love!

Dogs Running

Our Story

Jennifer began Love For Paws as a dog walking/pet sitting business in Los Angeles, CA in 2009. Some of the first dogs she cared for had severe behavior problems. She knew she needed to learn about dog behavior very quickly and began taking classes to learn everything she could to become a dog trainer. She found out that training was her passion and began training dogs in 2010. In 2013, she met Aaron and he began to help her with the business. They were married in 2015 and welcomed their son that year. In 2022, they moved the business and their family to Richmond, VA.

Aaron Friscia

Owner and Assistant Trainer

Aaron Friscia grew up in LA and is a hiking enthusiast with a passion for animals. He has what we jokingly call "animal magnetism" because both dogs and cats seem to gravitate to him immediately. Aaron is an excellent assistant trainer. Here he is pictured above with one of their clients, a sweet pup named Ms. Minnie. You'll see him frequently with the dog pictured below, Jupiter  aka "Beans". She is a highly social hound dog who assists with reactivity cases. She likes to be paid in sandwiches!

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.
